Legendary Partnership: The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and InsideOut Sports & Entertainment Team up for Tennis Tournament

The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman may have set a new standard of luxury Caribbean living, but now they're about to set a new standard in sporting events as well. The development of lavish private vacation residences has teamed up with New York City-based InsideOut Sports & Entertainment to bring the Legends Championships tennis tournament to the Cayman Islands. The combination of InsideOut's ability to stage highly successful events with the luxury and gorgeous setting of The Residences will prove to be a great hit.

The Legends Championships is part of the Outback Champions Series, which comprises a total of eight tennis events featuring world-class players over the age of 30. In order to be eligible to compete in any of the Outback Champions Series events, players must either have been ranked in the top five in the world, reached a Grand Slam singles final or played singles on a championship Davis Cup team. As a result, the Legends Championships and the other events in the Outback Champions Series provide exciting venues for skilled players to exhibit their competitive skills. With round-robin match formats and $150,000 in prize money, the Legends Championships promises to be an exciting event.

The Legends Championships is the second of eight events in the 2008 series and will be hosted by The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. KPMG Cayman Islands will be a supporting sponsor. Featuring 69 homes, in addition to an impressive 20,000 square-foot penthouse, the oceanfront Residences are characterized by elegance and luxury. The clay-court event is scheduled to begin April 16, 2008 and will feature eight international players. With a complete line-up of players recently announced by InsideOut, spectators can look forward to the skills and athleticism of John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Jimmy Arias, Wayne Ferreira, Todd Martin, Mats Wilander, Mikael Pernfors and Paul Haarhuis. The end of the first day of play will be marked by a Kickoff Party and the tournament will also feature special events such as a "Kids Day" and sponsor clinics. The event will draw to a close with the Championship Match on April 20, 2008.

While the results of the tournament will not be known until the last day of play, it's not difficult to predict that the partnership between The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and InsideOut Sports & Entertainment will prove to be a great one. It's also a safe bet to assume that the Legends Championships of the Outback Champions Series will be a Cayman Islands tennis event to remember.
